Richard More was one of four siblings whose parentage was disputed. Their mother had been unfaithful and her husband did not believe that they were his children. Richard, who was placed in the care of the Brewsters, was the only sibling to survive. He became a ship captain and moved to Salem. He and his wife Christian had seven children, three of whom had families of their own.
