Thomas Rogers brought his teenage son Joseph with him on the Mayflower. Although Thomas died the first winter, Joseph survived and was eventually joined by his brother John. Joseph married twice and had eight children. He was appointed surveyor of the highways and also operated a ferry across the Jones River.
